On my drive back to La from San Diego I topped by La Jolla Cove to check out the seals. It was a beautiful afternoon and the temperature was about 65F when me and my friends found them laying on the beach.
California coast
The are found at what they call Children's Pool or Casa Beach year round. Swimming is not allowed in here but the show of watching the seals is unique as they come and play or lay on the sand when the tide is low.
Seals resting on the shore
To see them closer you can walk out onto the breakwater where you can also enjoy unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean and the wonderful coast. Additionally you can enjoy of the many pelicans and seagulls that fly all over the area.

With these images I'd like to remind you to take care of our environment so we can continue to enjoy seeing wildlife in their natural environment and not caged in Zoos and Aquariums.

ReplyDeleteHope you love the macaroons!
Beautiful and sweet post. I have a soft spot for seal and during our summers in Northern Maine, we always pay a visit to the local seals. However, they do keep their distance and warm up on a tiny rock far away from the shore. i have never seen seals warming on the beach like this. Thanks for the treat, and yes the environment and nature is so fragile...
