Form Master

I told you yesterday I went to see the Kandinsky exhibit at the Phillips Collection which was absolutely amazing not just because it's rare to see an original but also because of the in-depth study into his art work {all images taken from the Phillips collection -  mine would've never made it justice!}.

The main image of the exhibit called Painting with White Border was the results of many studies the artist made about the subject. He made the studies in paint and paper to see how form and color related to each other.

Here is the painting and the Audio Guide about the exhibit that explains way better than I can the amazing worj this artist made and about the beauty of this piece of art work.

Have a great day and make some plans to visit your local museum this weekend!

  3. Lovely.
The most crucial thing I'd change about San Francisco is adding more museums. And I have to go back to the Asian Art Museum, thank you for reminding me.

  10. I absolutely love exhibits like this, that feature the studies and work before the final piece. They provide such amazing insight to the painter's method!
