I can't believe September is gone and I'm so thankful for all the amazing postcards I received from all of you. Today I'd like to share with you the one I received from Mary Jo at Trust Your Style who sent it to me from LA.
I had the pleasure to meet her at the presentation of her fashion line in LA a few months ago and was so delighted to finally meet her. I've been reading her blog for a while and have enjoyed greatly her insights on fashion and art and everything in between... If you don't know her yet check her out!
Since she is in LA and I just got back I wanted to share with you my impression of one of the best exhibit I've ever seen: Tim Burton at LACMA. The exhibit was a collection of all his work from the time he was a teenager, his time working for Disney and a look at all his movies {all images from HERE}.
The entry to the exhibit as spectacular as anything else
One of the many puppets that served as studies to every character he's created
This carousel was the coolest thing... it was located a dark room with black light,
creepy music and creatures on the wall looking at all of us
I loved the Corpse Bride... didn't you?
One of the many painting by Burton... It feels like Beetlejuice on Technicolor...
This exhibit celebrates the creative mind of someone who has made a career by breaking the barriers and rules of the conventional. He has created a world where not so pretty creatures are friendly and adorable {unless you're Beetlejuice... ha!}. If you are in LA and have a chance to see it go before it's too late...
Wishing all of you a great week and a fabulous October...
I would love to see it, so much creativity - blows my mind. I loved Beetlejuice, loved it. Never saw Corpse Bride - must remedy.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got my card Elie! Hope your birthday has been a good one and I will definitely have to check out this exhibit soon. Happy Monday!
