I have to start getting my Christmas decorations ready but the one that I have to really get going is my advent calendar. There are two types of advent calendars: one is the one that counts the days until Christmas starting on December 1st going all the way to the 24th.
On this one you fill the pockets with either sweets or little presents, then each day you open a new pocket and say a prayer or a "thank you"...
The other type is the one that counts the 4 Sundays until Christmas {of which I already missed one day} and it's a bit more religious because on every Sunday you light up a candle and say a prayer to celebrate the upcoming birth of Jesus... even if you missed one day already you can catch up with this calendar.
Have a great day and enjoy making your calendar with your family!!!
how cool!

LOVE these ideas! I'm partial to the 1st one so that I could make the hubby buy me a daily gift. That's the whole point of an advent calendar--right?!? :)

Love the first one! My Mom does a similar one where she cut up a huge shipping tube and made it into a christmas tree. Then she slips little gifts in.
