First of all I want to thank all of you for your good wishes on my graduation... It definitely is a huge investment and one I hope pays off real soon.
I'm sure most of you went to bed with this information and others {like me} woke up to find this out. I agree with Time Magazine on their choice because people speaking up for their rights were everywhere this year... and hope that some of them get the change they deserve and long for.
Without going unnoticed other news makers got honorary mentions as "The Runners-Up", they were: Ai Weiwei, a Chinese dissident and revolutionary; William McRaven, who was instrumental in the attack on Bin Laden; Paul Ryan, as a realistic politician; and Kate Middleton, for being the change the Windsors needed {all images from Time Magazine}.
Finally, the magazine had the good sense to name Ryan Gosling as the coolest person of the year. I only got to see "Crazy Stupid Love" this year but I enjoyed it and loved his character. He got great reviews throughout the year on every movie he was on... so I think it's well deserved!
Have a great "almost the weekend is here" day!!!
i found their choice so interesting, but so right on.
ReplyDeleteI'm really more "meh" on Time Magazine's choice but free press right?
ReplyDeleteI agree with their choice too. So many people around the world are looking for change and in some countries to stop being oppressed. People's voices are so important. xo
ReplyDeleteI watched some of this last night! I also agree with their choice! Happy THursday!
ReplyDeleteFabulously written, and really in line with what's happened this year!
ReplyDeleteUgh... I love the theme, but I feel like this is such a cop out. It's like when Time named the person of the year as "You." LOL.
ReplyDeleteOh, and go see Ides of March if its still in theaters. Ryan is great in it. That's right - we're on a first-name basis. ;)
great list!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen Crazy Stupid Love yet and I have been dying to see it. I will have to stop at redbox and pick it up for this weekend.

ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!
Activists have definitely been a force of change this year around the globe. The most unexpected to me (but was brewing for ages) was the Arab Spring.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Christmas holidays, with no exams or term papers at the other end! xx
I have been wanting to see that movie! It looks really funny. Not to mention how amazing Ryan Gosling looks in it. I have never been one to lust after actors (except Hugh Jackman - LOVE!) but I ma have a tiny celeb crush here ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh the Gosling...he is such a stud isn't he?
ReplyDeleteRyan Gosling is such a darling!! I believe every character he played in various movies. Awesome actor! I want to see more of his movies. xoxo
