Hope everyone had a great weekend... I didn't make it to the Iron Lady but will do today taking advantage of the holiday. Also, I am very happy that I finally got most of the changes done on the layout including tabs at the top, new colors {inspired on this year's Tangerine Tango}, and a simpler format to display image and information better.
I've always been amazed at the amazing images by Swedish photographer Carl Kleiner. His most famous collaborations are those with IKEA {writing this post on one of their desks} which I believe are quite perfect because his simple yet modern style matches the philosophy of style and simplicity that are the signature of the home goods giant {all images from Carl's website}.

His most famous collaborations are those with IKEA {writing this post on one of their desks} which I believe are quite perfect because his simple yet modern style matches the philosophy of style and simplicity that are the signature of the home goods giant {all images from Carl's website}.
His latest project teamed him up with stylist Evelina Kleiner and the were commissioned to use the typical budget one would have to buy a kitchen to put together the elements for the images.
These images really help IKEA break out from the reputation they have in many places and an inexpensive brand {like in the US where you find in every dorm room} and gives people ideas on how to best use their products and create a space that is not just affordable but also well designed.
The collaboration started when Carl photographed the IKEA cookbook named Hembakat är Bäst (Homemade Is Best) which is only available in Sweden {if I'm not mistaken!}. Here is a video from that first collaboration...

Have a great day and to those in the US...

ReplyDeleteFabulous. Ikea was the first place I went when I moved to NYC last year and nearly my entire (tiny!) apartment is furnished from Ikea. The only downside is having to make the furniture at home!

ReplyDeleteJ.
great styling and pics! I think we are all seeing more and more neat uses of ikea. We even bought our first piece from there recently. I was laughing with my husband that in my 20's I bought stickley and at 40, I am buying ikea.
ReplyDeleteI love ikea. I always thought as I aged I'd move on to something more sophisticated and expensive...but now I can just afford more of it.
ReplyDeleteOne of the nicest stylings I have seen so far from IKEA. They are still trendsetters!
ReplyDeleteI started going to IKEA when I was 5 with my mother and 36 years later I am still a client. The only brand I have been buying for such a long time. And that exactly is their secret!
Ah, Love it!
