Question Mark: Ideal Dinner

One of the best social inventions in the world is Dinner Parties. I cannot think of a better thing to invite a few friends over, share a meal and drink a few glasses of wine while having a conversation with interesting people.

So for this month's question I thought if I could invite anyone for dinner at my house, who would that be? Hmmm!!! I thought of that boy up in NY just because he's so cute, Yves Behar because he is a role model of the kind of designer I'd like to be, Mikhail Baryshnikov because I've always wanted to dance with him, Anouk Aimee and Catherine Deneuve to ask them about the amazing movies the made {especially about Mastroiani!}, and for musical purposes I'd love to invite Charlotte Gainsbourg because I love her beautiful voice.

So tell me... if you could invite anyone in this world to a dinner party at your place, who would that be?
Have a great day!

  1. Oooh - so many! Some of my dream guests (and some of them are dead but I get to wish, right?) would be Coco Chanel, Einstein, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Bonet, Bruce Springsteen, Marilyn Monroe, Bruce Willis... I could come up with so many more! I don´t have "idols" but all of these are interesting in different ways. :-)

  2. That's a fun and tough one at the same time... Hmmm, I'd invite Winston Churchill, Katherine Hepburn, Coco Chanel, Salvador Dali and Meryl Streep - I think that might make for an interesting night ;-) Have a great day xo

  4. Oh, that's one of those questions I can never think of an answer to. I guess I'd have to think about it for a while. Since you mentioned Charlotte Gainsbourg I might invite her father, Serge Gainsbourg. When I was in college, a friend of mine forced me to translate his songs - and wouldn't get out of my car until I did it. I might want to know what he was thinking when he wrote some of them. :)

  5. oh man, you've nailed a fascinating dinner party....
i'd have to invite jeffery wright {mon actor favorité,} and just all around crush....and since i'm in the acting world i'd most definitely have to add don cheadle to that list as well, and maybe julianne moore. and since julianne would be coming, hopefully she'd bring her friend tom ford with her....
other than that i'd like my husband to be there. i'd enjoy dorothy parker since it seems we can have those from times passed, and i'd like to have truman capote as well.
oh my gosh....what would i possibly wear???

  10. I also love dinner parties, your choice of dream guests is so interesting, what a fine mix of talent. I'd definitely want a few comedians to make me laugh, a few novelists to initiate creative conversation and the Salvatore brothers to drool over, lol.

  13. I love a good dinner party, hence why it's my inspiration every Thursday!

My ideal dinner party, truth be told would be closest friends and family. We really need some good together time, but for some fantasy dinner guests, I'd mix up some living and past attendees. Past: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Audrey Hepburn, John Lennon, Salvador Dali, Maria Callas, Morrie Schwartz, Natalie Wood. Living: Betty White, Jonas Gerard, Sofia Coppola, Anderson Cooper, Bob Dylan and the Beckhams.

  17. You know, I started my dinner party series two years ago with the single thought: How cool would it be to have Neil Conan from Npr over for dinner? From there I just started curating dinner parties on the blog every friday with that in mind: Having interesting people over for good food and lots of style. If I could chose a person again, I would still pick Neil but also a huge list of artists and writers.

  20. I love dinner parties! I would probably have to think about my ideal guests for hours (followed by stressing about my choices for hours) but I think Sofia Coppola and Matt Damon would definitely make the cut. :)

  27. I could not agree more -- dinner parties are probably one of my fav things in the world!! Do the guests need to be alive? I'd really like to go back in time and have a dinner party with several icons from multiple eras. My choices would be Maria Callas, Freddie Mercury, James Dean, Grace Kelly, Victoria & David Beckham, Brad Pitt, Kate Moss, Jovanotti, Mozart, and I love the idea of having blogger friends too!

Adore this post, so much fun! :)

  28. There are few things I enjoy more than awesome people and eating, so dinner parties are the *perfect* combo! (c: I really have no idea who I would want at dinner...I have this strange desire to meet the guys from LMFAO...but I don't think that counts for this! (c:

  30. One day when I have my own space and it's large enough, I would so love to plan the perfect dinner party for all my closest friends! :)

  31. I'm right with you! I love a good dinner party. Aaaah, who would I invite? I'd love to sound worldly and sophisticated by inviting the Dalai Lama and Michelle Obamama, but honestly I think I'd be bored to tears. I'd think I'd get along just fine with Penn Jillette, Tom Hanks, Mila Kunis, Joan Rivers...

Now whether they'd all get along with each other...that's another story.
