As I mentioned on an earlier post, the reason for my trip to DC and NY was to attend a trade show with my sister where she was going to exhibit the latest collection of her children's clothing line called Fournier {sound familiar!?!?!}.
This time she was showing the Fall-Winter collection all made with pima cotton, baby alpaca and a blend of baby alpaca with bamboo which makes the pieces even softer for the little ones {even I want to dress up in that!}. As a complement to the collection she designed a toys made with the same yarns inspired by some circus drawings her kids made for her.
Every single pieces in the line is made with all natural yarns by a group of women in Bolivia {she she lived for a few years} as part of a poverty alleviation program. The greatest advantage of these pieces is that unlike sheep's wool, alpaca wool doesn't pill or itch and it's much softer that cashmere.
If want one of these guys for yourself and a loved one... you'll have to wait until they come out to say hello sometime in the fall on the website or through one of the retailers in different parts of the US.
Have a great and happy day!

ReplyDeleteThose are really great! Alpaca wool is the best. There is an alpaca farm near my parent's house that we go to once a year so my sister can buy wool and it's soooo soft, I can't even imagine how nice the yarn must be with the bamboo in it.
