Healthy Olive

To finish this week's topic on olives and their oil, I want to talk about how good it it for your health. Like I said yesterday, I use olive oil like there's no tomorrow and have no hesitations when I use it.

The list of benefits star with the consumption of it. Cardiologists recommend at least 2 tablespoons per day of this oil as it aids your immune system in fighting disease, lower blood cholesterol levels, it's rich in antioxidants and vitamin E.

It can be a great ally in keeping a a beautiful skin, because it contains nutrients that the body doesn't make and help keep skin moisturized, so it can be applied directly onto your skin. You can also add a few drops of it to a warm bath.

Your hair, would also benefit tremendously from an olive oil treatment. Apply he oil to dry hair and massage the scalp with it. Leave it one for about 30 minutes {relax in the meantime!} and then shampoo as usual, preferably with a mild or organic shampoo with no sulfates.

If you run out of make up remover don't worry because olive oil will do the job. Just moisten a cotton ball with the oil and rub it on your face and see how your days goes away with it.

Use the oil as a base to make an exfoliant. Combine olive oil with kosher salt and rub it all over your body. Then, wash away the salt with warm water, your body will remain oily and your skin moisturized. Pat dry your skin so you don't rub away the oil from it.

Have a beautiful day!

  14. I swear by olive oil too. I make my own sugar scrubs - raw sugar, olive oil and a few drops of pure scented oil. It's especially great in the winter :) I've never tried it with kosher salt though - thanks for the tip :)

  15. I found out the quality of this oil last year, when after a cold my leg skin was dry and looked horrible and the cosmetician recommended me some olive oil. In two day my skin looked beautifully again. Nice to hear about you on my blog :*

  17. I'm glad other people are as obsessed with olive oil as I am! I used to make an exfoliator with it but it left my bathtub dangerously slippery!
